This is because IPV6 is turned on in firefox as shipped, and your router 
isn't coping with IPV6 DNS queries for some reason (I have this issue 
too). Try the following:

In firefox address bar  (where you would normally type 
http://www.google.com) type about:config. Scroll down to 
network.dns.disableIPV6. Toggle it to false. This will hopefully solve 
your problems.
