grub failure to update MBR (using RAID and LVM)

Grub, the one currently included in the released fedora core 3 updates,
does not support grub-install with RAID.  It does not understand the
/dev/md* devices and fails with an error.  One must use the grub command
line to install it.  I'm not sure about newer releases of grub, though.
Perhaps someone else could throw in their two cents on this?

Yes, it will mirror because it is in the /dev/md0 device, but it is
"hard-wired" to (hd0,0) nonetheless:

splashimage=(hd0,0)/grub/splash.xpm.gz
