I had the same issue back in the day with Verizon DSL. What you need to do
is reduce the max transmissable rate on the network device. For some reason
the default provides longer packets than the DSL modem can handle. If I
recall correctly, the MTU needs to be set to 1300 or 1350. Check that out
and see if it fixes the issue.

Thanks for the quick response. Here are the results of those settings. I
also tried setting up the Network Device Control with a network interface
eth0 but when I try to activate it I get this message:
Determining IP information for eth0... failed; no link present. Check Cable?
Well with XP pro up and running DSL the cable is definately plugged in. So
thus far I am unable to get up online with Fedora. If anyone can help
please do, so I can finally get some sleep. I won't rest until this thing
is working!
