hdc errors

Has anyone had this problem?

When I play a dvd everything is fine. When I put in a dual layer dvd
that I burnt on this machine with K3B I get hdc errors. I am running
FC3.

ATAPI device hdc:
   Error: Not ready -- (Sense key=0x02)
 kernel:   (reserved error code) -- (asc=0x30, ascq=0x02)
 kernel:   The failed "Read Subchannel" packet command was:
 kernel:   "42 02 40 01 00 00 00 00 10 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 "

It is a Maddog dual layer 8x dvd burner ( actually an NEC-2510A )

When I put the disc in I get all these errors overflowing
/var/log/messages and then I can't unmount or eject the dvd.
