Ok, then

a) post maillog entries showing the faults (maybe with increase log
level of 15 than the default of 9)

b) post your sendmail.mc

c) post your /usr/lib/sasl2/Sendmail.conf

d) make sure saslauthd is running: service saslauthd start & chkconfig
saslauthd on

e) post content of /etc/sysconfig/saslauthd
