sendmail problems

Acting on a recommendation from here I downloaded and installed 'epylog' and
then did a test run. It didn't work, but the full report is here;-

I then looked at '/etc/mail/trusted-users' which shows this;-

and with permissions of rw-rw-rw-.
It now seems that 'sendmail' is not working internally at all, so how do I
get it to work please?
