i rummaged about in bugzilla for a bit and there a number of intel sound
bugs in the list. Here's a list of the recent ones that i've found thus far:

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=144769
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=144879
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=144892
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=144858

All of those should be very recent (this year). There are more dealing
with intel chips and sound from the latter part of last year (Nov. and
Dec.).

i'm going to boot into my older kernels and see if i can get output again.
