do this command "rpm -qa | grep alsa" without the quotes, you should 
have 3 packages,
alsa-lib-1.0.7-17.rhfc3.at
alsa-utils-1.0.7-11.rhfc3.at
alsa-lib-devel-1.0.7-17.rhfc3.at

The version is not important. I use apt-get to install packages, if you 
don't have apt-get installed, you can get all 3 of those packages at 
http://freshrpms.net
