Kernel RPM

Hello there,

     it may be a stupid Question to ask.but i coudnt stop asking

     I have Downloaded the Latest Kernel RPM and tryed installing it.
it went fine but when i restarted my PC it is not Booting into Linux
Any More. Whats the Problem.if this is the case i will be forced to
use Windows 2003 Enterprise Server.Plz do Reply Me
