Hello Rick Chen. I don't have solution at all, I just click "Don't use ID3v2 tag"(Press Ctrl +P -> MPEG Layer 1/2/3) and reboot the xmms. Then, I type the artists, song names , etc. to the song files one more time. Restart it , then I can see chinese in xmms. That's all. I hope these words can help you.
