To do this in /etc/fstab you would add  a line like this:
//excelcior/art         /mnt/dos/art  smbfs 
defaults,credentials=/etc/samba/pub.cred 0 0

Then create a credentials files to handle the username/password stuff:

username=[name]
password=[password]
