modem on HP laptop

I have succefully installed FC3 on my HP laptop.  But,
I am having problem with get the modem to work.  I
have installed the Linux driver for the modem, but I
am still not able to get it to work.  I following the
instruction on
"http://phep2.technion.ac.il/goldberg/post-install.html",
when I run wvdialconf, it still saids no modem found. 
Has any one gotton the Agere AC97 modem to work on
FC3?  Please help.  Thanks.
