FC4 (x)maple 9.5.2 "connection to kernel lost", java problem?

It seems that I have found the problem.
Apparently Java gets confused by IPV6, so ipv6 must be disabled.
This can be done, by putting the following lines
into /etc/modprobe.conf:
alias net-pf-10 off
alias ipv6 off
Reboot, then xmaple should run fine.
