Seems you have mixed packages or your rpm database is totally confused.
So run an advanced rpm query and check for old / obsolete packages still
around, and for duplicates.

rpm -qa --qf "%{name} %{epoch}:%{version} - %{arch}\n" | sort

> [root at alfred tim]# yum update

> Setting up repositories

¿Still old repository settings around? I suggest you repair that when
already upgraded to FC4. Be sure you have a Fedora Extras 4 repo file
active below /etc/yum.repos.d/.

What is home?
