Installing Grub on a bootable CD

Install grub into the root or /boot partition of your Fedora
installation rather than the MBR. Then you need some way of
chain-loading that grub from your regular bootloader. For example, the
program "bootpart" (http://www.winimage.com/bootpart.htm) will enable
you to do this if your regular bootloader is the one that came with
Windows NT/2000/XP. It's a great way of dual-booting with Windows if you
don't want to mess with the MBR. Alternatively you could install grub on
a floppy and set that up to chain-load your hard disk version of grub.
