My Epson printer died on the weekend and I couldn't get any support
from Epson, even to the location of a service center without giving a
credit card.  It was trashed.

I purchased an HP last night and it took less than 20 minutes to
follow the HP instructions to install it. Now I have a full printer
control panel that allows me to check ink levels, printer settings
etc. I purchased a HP1200D that came with duplex.

HP = :) :) :)
Epson = :( :( :(

I was going to rant about this but now I don't have to.

My experience was similar to this.
