I did what you say :
ls /usr/share/fonts :
bitmap-fonts fonts.cache-1 math2m__.ttf math4mb_.ttf
MathFonts_TrueType
bitstream-vera math1b__.ttf math2___.ttf math4m__.ttf mathml
cmex10.ttf math1mb_.ttf math3b__.ttf math4___.ttf msttcorefonts
cmmi10.ttf math1m__.ttf math3mb_.ttf math5b__.ttf openoffice
cmr10.ttf math1___.ttf math3m__.ttf math5mb_.ttf SY______.PFB
cmsy10.ttf math2b__.ttf math3___.ttf math5m__.ttf texcm-ttf
default math2mb_.ttf math4b__.ttf math5___.ttf wine
but when i try to see a mathml test page
(http://www.w3.org/Math/testsuite/testsuite/Presentation/GeneralLayout/mfrac/mfrac3.xml)
I obtain a bad formated page like the capture joined.
