Which version to use, FC2 or FC3?

I also had a similar problem with FC3. I ended up just having mine boot
to init 3 (modifying /etc/inittab to boot to init level 3 instead of 5).
Then I login and run startx. My laptop stays running all the time so
it's not a big deal for me to do it this way.
