You also need to make sure you have the firmware loaded on your system.
I believe there is an RPM available or you can go to the sourceforge
site and get the firmware from there as well as the latest driver.
I finally gave up trying to get the 2200BG working on a Toshiba Tecra
M2. Went out and bought a Netgear WG511 version 2 adapter. Loaded
driverloader and selected the drivers from the CD. Was up and running
in just a few minutes. This after wasting many many hours trying to get
the 2200BG to work reliably.
I did get the 2200BG to work for awhile using Networkmanager, however
that did not seem run consistently and it finally just stopped working
entirely. I never did like the fact that I could not get the wireless
working on the 2200BG through the normal network options. The WG511
version 2 is running using the normal network options without
Networkmanager. At some point I may try Networkmanager again but for
now it ain't broke....
Now I just need to allocate time to find out if it was an Xorg package
update that messed up the font display on that laptop....
