missing alsactl.h

Hi,

I was trying to install the driver for my Intel sound
card from ALSA. While trying to install the alsa-util
packages, I was getting the error that alasctl.h: No
such file or directory. I searched in the package, but
there was no alsactl.h header file. Where can I find
this header file, else how to proceed further?

Any help?????????
