OK with that device node in place, on the command line (as lance)

press the hotsync button on the cradle (device) and then

$ /usr/bin/pilot-xfer -L -p /tmp/pilot

It should connect and list the files on the pilot. Report back on your
success/failure.

Also...

1 - please don't use html
