ndiswrapper "make install" fails with kernel 2.6.14-1.1637

For what it's worth, the same problem and errors that B. J. reports also
exist when building ndiswrapper-1.2, which I believe is the latest
version.  There are compile errors and warnings about
LINUX_KERNEL_VERSION being unset.  I can't get through the 'make' to do
the 'make install'.
