I agree with all those saying "gftp," but I've not used it for years. I 
find that when I want an interactive ftp client lftp is hard to beat, 
and links (I don't mean elinks) does a pretty decent job too.

Recent links, if so built, do a wonderful graphics display on a 
framebuffer console. And kens mouse clicks.
