fc4 yum update: xorg hangs system

The friday yum update of xorg hangs my fc4/x86_64 system.  (tyan k8e,
asus radeon x300se pcie).  If I do an interactive startup and stop
hitting <cr> sometime after sshd I can ssh in and look around.  If I
then try to do an "Xorg -configure" as root, the system hangs.  The
hang is definitely X related.  Things worked just fine before the most
recent yum update.
