When I look at the output I see that your Sony will write cds . When
I look at your Matshita I don't
see write capabilities BUT I've never seen "DVD-RAM" before. If I run
"cdrecord -scanbus" my HP will
be described as HP dvd-writer. As an end-user, who hasn't used the
command line to write cds since
Redhat 9 I'd suggest that you try k3b or xcdroast - also verify
whether or not the Matshita is indeed a writer.
So far, I'm a fan of HP DVDwriters. --gary
