Xine gives an error with an avi file

Which version of xine have you got?  I have 
/var/cache/yum/rpmforge/packages/xine-lib-1.1.1-1.2.fc4.rf.i386.rpm
and it plays avis without problems.  I assume that it would use the same codec 
packages as mplayer, but maybe there are some xine plugins missing?
