It's the downloads.rdf file; usually something like :

.mozilla/firefox/ky24i2u2.default/downloads.rdf

...mine was 1/2 meg or so, i hadn't noticed. Having one loaded up seems 
to do FF evil.

There might be some magic number issue...everything was fine until 
several days ago.

I've been using the same .mozilla directory for months.
