I seem to remember that behaviour being changed. Running X continuously
tended to be a problem. After a few days you'd notice things stopping
working, or very heavy CPU use. Using a person logging out as a natural
opportunity to restart X avoided that problem.
(Currently running FC4, occasionally trying FC5.)
