Can I run "yum update" etc. on "init 3" (without GUI) because my AMD64
box always hung on GUI.

If "YES" whether running "pppoeconf" on "init 3" to make network
connectiong.  How to bring up NIC, "ifup eth0" or "service network
config"?  There is only one NIC on the box.  I'll disable the onboard
LAN and Sound which cause lot of trouble.
