GLIBC-2.4-4 does not include obsoletes?

Hello,

I have a problem with MATLAB that is alergic to newer glibc libraries. The
glibc-2.3.6-3 package
under FC4 in my laptop includes the obsoletes so matlab runs fine. The
glibc-2.4-4 under FC5
on my desktop does not and MATLAB crashes on start.

Here are all the glibc packages installed on the system:

glibc-common-2.4-4
glibc-devel-2.4-4
glibc-kernheaders-3.0-5.2
glibc-2.4-4
glibc-headers-2.4-4

under my laptop an

rpm -qf /lib/obsoletes/

returns

glibc-2.3.6-3

as owner.

Any help would be appreciated!
