problems with maxima on FC5

Dear all,
  I have checked several things out with FC5, 

display problem is no longer there,
display(Imagemagick command that displays images)
works well.

slmodemd(slamr) does not work correctly
[root at localhost ~]# modprobe ungrab-winmodem
[root at localhost ~]# modprobe slamr
FATAL: Error inserting slamr
(/lib/modules/2.6.16-1.2096_FC5/extra/slamr.ko):
Invalid argument

[root at localhost ~]#
and
maxima just yum installed
[root at localhost local]# yum install maxima xmaxima

since FC3 and FC4 maxima does not work well.  What can
be done?
