With the newest kernel, 2.6.16-1.2096_FC5, the kernel shutdown messages seem to have disappeared. Choosing 'System -> Shut Down... -> Shutdown' immediately produces a black screen before switching off the power. No more listing of the shutdown tasks being performed. Is this deliberate? Is there some way of getting them back? Alexander
