Indeed it is:
# chkconfig yum on
# service yum start
Of course you must decide for yourself if you want unattended
auto-updates to happen overnight on your system. You might prefer to run
"yum check-update" in a cron job and have it mail the results to you so
that you can decide whether to do a manual update or not.
