Audigy 2 has no playback sound

Hi . Use /usr/sbin/alsactl store . One further thing if your using Kde, is to 
look in Kmix >settings > config Kmix. There is a check box there named "load 
volumes on startup" or something like that. Uncheck the box, as it interferes 
with alsactl.
