Doesn't seem to work here ....
10:25:31 # touch fileA
10:25:57 # touch fileB
10:26:03 # which cp
alias cp='cp -i'
/bin/cp
10:26:15 # cp fileA fileB
cp: overwrite `fileB'? n
10:26:29 # cp -f fileA fileB
cp: overwrite `fileB'? n
> \cp will use the default cp command and NOT use the alias
