Start it from a terminal and see if it complains before crashing.

Does "gnome-cd --help" crash?

There doesn't seem to be a gnome-media-debug package, but file a crash
report from the crash reporter dialog anyway.

Search bugzilla for a bug in gnome-cd or gnome-media (?) that seems
related, and see if there are any useful suggestions to try.
