java in browser

I just linked the file, as root. Maybe if you copied or linked the file
as a user that might gink it up? Then shut down firefox, and re-run it. 

Here's what I did, with jre in /opt
[root at iam opt]# cd /usr/lib/firefox-2.0/plugins/
[root at iam plugins]#
ln-s /opt/jre1.5.0_09/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin_oji.so
libjavaplugin_oji.so
[root at iam plugins]# cd /usr/lib/mozilla-1.7.13/plugins/
[root at iam plugins]# ln
-s /opt/jre1.5.0_09/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin_oji.so
libjavaplugin_oji.so
[root at iam plugins]# cd ~/.mozilla/plugins/
[root at iam plugins]# ln
-s /opt/jre1.5.0_09/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin_oji.so
libjavaplugin_oji.so

This is using the jre1.5.0_09 bin. release, where I put the .bin file
in /opt/ and executed it. That's all I have done to make it work. Did
similar with flash only I copied the file to those locations. 

java.com is happy with my installation as well. Of course something will
yum in, in the middle of the night, and it will blow up again. I've been
married 3 1/2 times, so I'm used to a skittish bride. <cackles> Ric
