Odd mail-sending problem

More of an annoyance, really.  Today I have sent a couple of messages from 
kmail using another of my Identities, only to be told that sending failed 
because

The server responded: "5.7.0 Must issue a STARTTLS command first 
o1sm1256212uge"

The message goes into the Outbox folder.  I then open it again and Send.  This 
time it goes out without a problem.

Has anyone else seen anything like that?
