cp : File size limit exceeded

Hai there,

I have a vmware image of 7 GB which I want to backup on my usb hdd
(40GB). However during the copy of the image from my hdd to the usb
hdd, I get the error message "File size limit exceeded"

Anyone got a tweak or solution to help me backup my image ?
