Back in FC6.
After comparing the version of the /var/log/rpmpkgs file dated the 19th
to the file /var/log/rpmpkgs.1 last changed on the 18th, the following
diffs occurred, which is pretty much what upgrades were applied at the
time. See attachment if it does not go inline.
It appears that the --verifydb error was not as damaging as suspected.
Simply rebooting and removing the /var/lim/rpm/__db* file and running
rpm --rebuildb put the system back to normal.
If nobody else is seeing this error, I'll leave it to maybe a problem
with the disk. Development mail to root did show a problem with /dev/hdc
on which FC6 is installed, though I was not asked to perform a disk
check in either of the two versions.
Also, querying the actual database and comparing the sorted rpm -qa
output saved to a file to the /var/log/rpmpkgs file sorted again but
using diff matched up. Of course the .rpm extension in the
/var/log/rpmpkgs file made all show up differently, though the version
information was the same.
