You've misunderstood what I said, Mike. I had said, earlier in the thread,
that RW disks should be treated as temporary only. I was speaking of the
lifetime and storage requirements of CD and DVD as being the same - and I did
add 'IMO' A well burned and carefully handled and stored CD or DVD should
have quite a long lifetime. I would never use RW disks for anything other
than very short-term storage. I did, for instance, use a couple just before
I installed FC6, just in case I made a boo-boo and formatted my FC4 /home,
instead of another directory that I intended to use for my FC6 /home. The
life expectancy for that need was 24 hours.
