I don't have much experience with notebooks and linux. But I know, that 
intel centrino notebooks are the most suitable notebooks for linux, as 
both the hardware accelaration and WLAN card is natively supported. 
That't what I've heard. I don't know anything about details. Actually it 
doesn't matter which manufacturer you chose. The hardware platform must 
be compatible.
