system-config-soundcard fails after running krec

I'm running fc6 on a Dell Precision 380 and the soundcard detection test 
feature sometimes works for me.  But if I run krec first, I don't hear any 
sound.  If I exit the gnome session and log back in, it works again.  Should 
I file a bug report on this or is this a known problem?
