Could not connect to gmail in fedora 6? and Could not run YUM

Hi,

I am running fedora 5 and fedora 6 on vmware at the same host machine.
I could get on the internet from fedora 6. However, if I tried to get
to www.gmail.com, firefox just timed out. I do not have any problem on
fedora 5.

Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

At the same time, I still could not use yum to update the fedora 6.
The error message is:

Setting up Install Process
Setting up repositories
Could not retrieve mirrorlist
http://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/mirrolist?repo=core-6&arch=i386 error
was
[Error 4] IOError: <ulropen error (110, .....)>
Error: cannot find a valid baseurl for repo: core

Could any help to fix this also? I really need to get the kernel-devel
package to compile the vmtoolbox.
