Kind of a bad idea if you want to boot from it, since you can only put
a DOS partition table on devices up to 2TB in size.  For anything
larger you need to use GPT partition tables, which your BIOS almost
certainly can't boot from.

Enable the boot volume support on the 3ware care and install on that.
Then either create an LVM PV on the raw second device (probabaly
/dev/sdb) or put a GPT label on it, make a big partition and put a PV
on it.  Then either add that PV to your existing volume group or make
a new one.

This works fine even for huge devices; the next problem comes at the
8TB limit for ext3.
