That is the essence of community support.  What did you think "community"
meant?

The community consists of people just like you who want things done and
proceed to take steps to accomplish the same.

I really don't see where the rest of your rant was called for, actually.  You
asked how to go about getting this done, you received an answer.  Now you have
a project, if you wish to proceed with it.  If not, then perhaps it wasn't such
an important issue after all?
