Fedora 7 keeps locking up

It might be a bogus warning. If my system screws up booting, I often
see a BIOS warning about the CPU speed. I haven't changed anything, but
either it sets things to a default, and/or just comes up with a stupid
error message.

Using FC 4, 5, 6 & 7, plus CentOS 5. Today, it's FC7.
