Can't set valid fonts in NEdit (Fedora 8)

I seem to recall installing a whole bunch of optional font
packages. I'll attach the list of font rpms installed on
my system.

I also noticed one peculiar thing in a lesstif app I ported:
The app-default file had "overspecified" fonts that ended
in the registry-encoding pattern iso8859-1 and apparently
the encoding is now -2 instead of -1. I just fixed the
app-default file to say -* since I don't really care how it
is encoded, I just want the characters :-).
