That's all very well when *YOU* have a screen that can accommodate
[miles-of-crap], and completely antisocial to all of those who can't.

Been there, done that, had to put up with reading mail from lists that
only leave you with about three words space for the real subject.  And
that often gets compounded by dickheads who write their whole problem
into the subject line, with a stupid "as subject" written in the message
body.

Even those with big screens don't all want to expand their mail client
to hog all the screen space.  We want to be able to put windows side by
side, and not have to play shuffle the windows to use them.
