I'd suggest something more like this:

127.0.0.1     localhost.localdomain  localhost                                                                           
192.168.0.1   reddwarf.localdomain   reddwarf

The format of the hosts file is:
IP  domain-name  alias(es)

NB:  There can be several aliases, if you want or need them.
